What does it mean to be a WBE?

Did you know that if all the women business owners in the USA were their own country, they would be the 5th largest country in the world! Almost 70% of the 8 million women business owners started their companies since the year 2000. (CFWBR)

As a Woman Business Owner, Kathy Cacciato knows how important it is to be WBE Certified in Illinois because not only does it add credibility to the Creative Solutions Company she and her husband built from the ground up, but it also plays a role in her team’s business development strategy. With a BA in Marketing from the University of Dayton, Kathy started out by gaining experience as the Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for Amaretto followed by a 15 year position as the Regional Manager for United Distillers. Both of these roles paved the way for Kathy to implement her leadership skills as the President of Katherine Frank Creative where she is active in daily projects including exhibit consultation, event management and team building strategies.

Why get WBE certified?

-Having WBE Certification gives purchasing agents confidence that a business representing itself as woman-owned is in fact woman-owned

-Most publicly held corporations, as well as larger private corporations, track and/or have programs for doing business with women business owners that are WBE certified

-Most local, state, and federal government purchasing agencies track and have programs for doing business with women-owned vendor companies
